Ultrasound uses sound waves to create detailed images of your pet’s internal organs, tissues, and structures. It allows us to see areas inside the body that might not be visible through other imaging methods, such as X-rays.
When is Ultrasound Needed?
Our veterinarians may recommend an ultrasound if your pet is showing signs of illness that need further investigation. It’s commonly used to help diagnose:

How Does the Ultrasound Work?
During the ultrasound, your pet will lie on a comfortable table, and a gel will be applied to the area being examined. A small probe is then gently moved over the skin to capture the images. Your pet may need to be slightly sedated if they are anxious or if a thorough examination is required.
